Practice in the Classroom: For a Quality Te Reo Māori Programme in an English Medium School

  • Venue: University of Waikato (map)

This third and final professional learning development day is being offered to those teachers and schools wishing to focus on practice and practising in a second language classroom.

The sessions will workshop theories and approaches in practical classroom contexts.  It is an appropriate follow-on from the big picture and team focused workshops 1 and 2 (taking place on 29 May and 12 June respectively).

This workshop is targeted at English medium schools and teachers, years 1 – 8, who want to embed this practice for 2019+. These teachers may have made a start with their Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga programme and will be looking to grow their confidence and capacity in the teaching and learning Te Reo Māori as a second language in a consistent, purposeful manner.

Schools have found it an advantage to come to the previous two workshops as a (lead) team.  It is also a good up-skilling opportunity for teachers new to schools that have worked in-depth with the Consultancy.
